How do I know which wooden decking boards to purchase ?
This is a question which we get asked throughout the summer months as wooden decking has become a great alternative to patio slabs, grass and your other conventional garden floor options. Here are some tips on decking building.

Areas to consider when purchasing a decking board –
- Quality of the decking boards – Decking boards vary from 21mm up to 32mm.
- Treatment – Is the timber decking Tanalised and if so how long should it last.
- Maintenance – How do I maintain my wooden decking boards.
- Cost – Cheapest isn’t always the best you need to compare price to quality ratio.
- Length of decking boards – Less waste the better.
- Fitting Decking birds – Ask the manufacturer how the decking boards should be fitted. ( Spacing on Joist / Base Timbers tends to be the most Important aspect).
- Warranty – Is there a warranty on the decking boards and if so what are the terms and conditions.
