Fencing Installation in Carmarthen

One of our customers has recently installed a Garden fence system using two materials that you wouldnt normally think would mix. ( Concrete posts, concrete gravel boards mixed with wooden panels ).

Wooden garden fences are both aesthetically pleasing and easy to work with. However the down side is that in time they can be prone to rotting and decaying at any point that the wood comes in direct contact with the ground.

So What are my fencing options ? Its quite simple.

There are three commonly used fencing post products available, these are -

1. Wooden Fence posts.
2. Plastic Fencing Posts.
3. Concrete Posts.

Concrete fencing along with PVc fencing products offer a low maintenance alternative to wood hence aleviating issues with post snapping or breaking. Both offer a good alternative to timber fencing posts which is why in this instance Martin ( The fitter) has used the Concrete post with Wooden fencing panels. As you can see from the Garden fencing image the wooden panels at no point are coming in contact with the ground hence allowing air to circulate which will improve the durability of the fencing Panel over time.

There are however a few downsides of using concrete Fencing posts, these are - 

• Concrete fences are much Harder to work with.
• Concrete posts can be very heavy.
• Concrete fencing components are generally More expensive to purchase.
• Concrete fence posts Can be prone to cracking over time.
• Concrete generally doesnt look as aesthetically pleasing.

However in this instance i think that Martin has designed a fence that not only looks good but that is also practical and durable. His remit from the customer was to install a fence that would last and he appears to have done this. Fencing Article Part 3

Garden Fencing ( composite & Plastic fencing ) article part 3

In the last two articles that have been written I have highlighted the wooden fencing options that are available, however there is another fencing product currently making its way into the UK garden.

This product is plastic fencing or composite fencing. Plastic fencing as the name suggests is basically a garden fencing panel manufactured from 100% recyclable plastic that has been designed with strength & durability in mind.

Advantages of plastic fencing panels

• Plastic fencing will not Rot, flake or split.
• Composite / Plastic fences look and feels like a wooden fence.
• A fence that needs very little maintenance.
• Plastic Panels are light strong & durable.
• Easy to install fence panel.
• Plastic fence panels can be stained or Painted if required.
• Aesthetically more pleasing panel than concrete.

There are currently three different styles of plastic fence options panel available from our depot in Swansea South Wales.

 

The hollow composite panel that is available is manufactured in  1.8 Metre by 300mm long fencing strips. The fence panels can then be constructed by placing them on top of each other to form the height that is required.

Fairmount PVC Fencing Panel

 

 

This particular style of Plastic / Composite fencing Panel is designed and manufactured using individual strips they can then be assembled to make a fence panel. The plastic wrapped fences can be purchased in 1.8 Metre, 1.5 Metre, 1.2 Metre and .900mm high Panels. All panels are 1.8 Metre long.

Madrid Fencing Panel                                                    Madrid Fencing panels after 2 years

The Madrid fencing Panel is a V-shaped chevron style fence panel that hosts an arched top to give it a more decorative design. The slats are planed and rounded with a brushed effect , they are also offset which allows high winds to pass through the panel reducing the chance of damage. These panels are fully stainless steel screwed throughout. This particular style of fencing panels tends to be slightly more durable than the majority of its European counterparts as it has no trellis also offering greater privacy.

The Jasmin or flower panel as it is some times called is our most intricate and decorative fence panel. As with the vast majority of European design fencing panels it hosts a number unique characteristics and benefits. So what makes these panels different

• The boards are offset to allow the wind through.
• stainless steel screwed throughout. 
• Planed rounded edged tanalised timber.                                                                                                     However it needs to be noted that this panel comes at a price, due to its unique design it works out more expensive than the majority of fence panels within this range.

Wooden Fencing Products available in 2017

I have written an article that I feel will be both beneficial and helpful for those looking at garden fencing, with this in mind and also coupled with the fact that the fencing season is upon us I have included the various different types of wooden Garden Fencing products that are currently available. The article will be in the form of a three part editorial that will concentrate on areas such as design, cost, durability and Installation.

I will post a number of lifestyle images of Wooden fencing and garden fencing Panel options that we currently have available and on display hence allowing and giving the reader a true representation of how the panels and fences will look in a garden environment.

 

Areas to consider when designing your wooden fence

• The installation of the fence
• Your budget for the fence.
• Strength required on the fence.
• Aesthetical requirement of the fence.
• Location of the Fence.
• Use of the fencing.
• The ground the fence will be erected on.

 

Once you have decided on the points above you can then move on to deciding the fence that is right for you.

Feather Edge Fencing ( Boards )

 

Feather edge fencing is a firm British favorite. The upright wooden fencing boards are positioned vertically attaching directly to horizontal wooden rails . This particular style of garden fencing is designed primarily with strength and durability in mind and will need to be constructed on site. It can however be made to look more esthetically pleasing by angling the top of the fence in a Convex or Concave pattern.
